All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku is an anime based on a manga series written and illustrated by Yuzo Takada.
The main character of the series, Atsuko Natsume (also known as Nuku Nuku) is a schoolgirl android created by Kyusaku Natsume when he transplants the brain of a cat found by his son, Ryunosuke, into it. After creating the android, he stole it from his now former employer, Mishima Heavy Industries. Ryunosuke is in charge of Nuku Nuku, and he works to assimilate the android into a human lifestyle.
Nuku Nuku has promised Ryunosuke and his father that she will not use her powers in front of other humans. Ryunosuke reminds her of this promise as he escorts her to school on her first day. Nuku Nuku ends up being late on her first day, and makes a grand entrance into the classroom. Her class is filled with many of the stereotypes found in high school anime series (bossy class leader, snobby popular girl and her sidekicks, the "cool" and aloof boy, the girl obsessed with the occult, the brainy student, etc.)
During Nuku Nuku's first day of class, Mishima Heavy Industries conducts a test of one of their products in front of the school, and the product goes haywire. After seeing one of her new friends in danger from the product, Nuku Nuku ends up using her powers to save the day. Luckily for her, the other kids just think she has great athletic abilities. At the end of the first episode, Ryunosuke amends her promise to only use her powers to save her classmates.
The overall plot of the series focuses on Mishima Heavy Industries trying to reclaim Nuku Nuku. These battles that ensue between Nuku Nuku and Mishima Heavy Industries tend to involve comedic larger-than-life battles. Generally, these battles see Nuku Nuku going up against the military hardware that is produced by Mishima Heavy Industries.
All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku uses a bit of exaggeration and humor to tell its story. Content-wise, there really isn't anything too terribly inappropriate for younger viewers. However, I would recommend this series to anime viewers who are 12 or 13 years of age and older.
