Love Quotations From the Bible

Love Quotations From the Bible
The Bible is all about relationships. Love is the primary theme that runs through it. - God's love for us, our love for Him and our love for one another. The love that we feel for each other is an extraordinary gift from God. It is a gift that we receive with joy and celebration. Since Valentines Day is a day that we celebrate the gift, there are some great love poems and love verses in the Bible that are fitting to add to and individualize a special Valentine's card.

The greatest and most intimate love poem in the Bible is the book called "Song of Songs" or "Song of Solomon." Read the entire book to find verses fitting for your own beloved. You may be surprised at the intensity of this biblical description of romantic love.

The following are a few of my favorite passages from Song of Solomon and other books of the Bible.
Song of Solomon 7:10-12
"I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me.
Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages.
Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourishes, whether the tender grapes appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my love."

I like this passage because it speaks of a powerful bond between a man and woman.
Song of Solomon 8:6-7
"Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it."

The message of Ecclesiastes 4:9-11 is the benefit of a bond between two people.
"Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?"

1 Corinthians 13:4-13 is often used in wedding ceremonies to describe the love that the bride and groom will strive for.
Love is patient and kind
Love does not envy or boast. It isnt arrogant or rude.
Love doesn't insist on it s own way. It isn't irritable or resentful,
Nor does it rejoice in doing wrong. It rejoices in truth.
Love bears all things, believes, hopes and endures all things.
Now faith, hope and love endure and the greatest of these is love.

There is no better place than the Bible to find help in sending your love the message of your heart.
