Here are some crafts to do to celebrate.
Fall Sun Catcher
Adult supervision and help needed.
You will need:
-Wax Paper (two pieces the same size)
-Fall Leaves
-Dried grass or wheat
-Red Crayon
-Orange Crayon
-Brown Crayon
-Plastic bag
-Hammer
-Yarn
-Iron
-ADULT
Peal the paper from the crayons. Put the crayons in the plastic bag. An ADULT should help pound the crayon to small pieces. Set aside.
Lay one piece of wax paper with the wax side up and arrange the crayon shavings, the leaves and the grass on the wax paper. Cut 8 inches of yarn and lay the ends of the yarn one the wax paper -at least one inch of yarn should be on the wax paper. The yarn is how you will hang your sin catcher so make sure the yarn makes an upside down U. Carefully lay the other sheet of wax paper, wax side down on top. Place between two towels and iron until the crayons are melted.
Pinecone Bird Feeder
All ages
You will need:
-Pinecone
-Peanut or nut butter
-Birdseed
-Ribbon
-Bowl
-Plastic knife or spoon
Pour some seed into the bowl, set aside. About half way down tie the ribbon around the pinecone, knot securely. The ribbon is how you will hang your birdfeeder. Take the spoon or knife (if using a knife and adult should be present) and spread the peanut butter all over the pinecone. Put the pinecone in the bowl of seed and roll it around until it is cover.
Fall Nature Bracelet
All ages
You will need:
-Clear duct tape
Loosely put the duct tape around the child’s wrist so the sticky side is out. Allow the child to collect leaves and grasses from outside. If this is not possible, check out your local craft store for fake leaves and other small fall theme items.
