The Scented Beauty of the Lily

The Scented Beauty of the Lily
Have you ever walked through a garden of Lilies and smelled the beauty of their aroma? It can be the most tantalizing smell you've ever experienced. Most people associate the Lily with Easter or Funerals but it's actually a beautiful flower to have growing around your house.

You see them in the Spring and early Summer popping up in orange, white and yellow colors. When positioned just right outside your door, you'll always be graced with the beauty of their scent.

But suppose you'd like to wear the scent of the Lily in a perfume blend and have it as part of your signature scent. Get ready to dig deep into your pockets because just like her beauty, the Lily doesn't come cheap.

In the world of essential oil, the Lily is known as Lilum aurantum, the true lily and extracted by enfleurage. The best Lily essential oil I've ever smelled comes from South America. It's extracted using organic palm oil and organic alcohol that's derived from local organic sugar cane. The entire process is done by hand using no heat and no harsh chemical solvents.

Just like the Rose, the process for extracting the oil from the Lily is quite labor intensive and requires pounds and pounds of flower petals but the results are astoundingly breath taking.

The Lily and Skin Care

Because of the expense of Lily essential oil, it's best to blend it with other essential oils of the same quality, especially for skin care. If you are challenged with sensitive skin or spider veins, Lily essential oil blended with Calendula create a wonderful treatment for your skin.

The combination of Lily and Calendula are also good for massage, dry cuticles, facial moisturizers and under eye treatments. Add a few drops to your bath water and you've now got a moisturizing oil treatment while you soak in the tub.

Lily Perfume

The Lily blends exceptionally well with Jasmine, Rose Otto, Neroli, Tuberose, Citrus Oils and Cinnamon Leaf. If you are one who's creative at heart, try putting together your own blend. Know that this will be a special oil blend because of it's cost but it will be well worth it to have an oil just for your own special use.

You will experience the rich, sweet floral aroma of the flowers and you will slay, in a good way, the lucky person close to you with the beauty of your scent as they experience Lily on your skin.
