Books Price [offsite link] Comparison shop amongst 34 online book stores for the best price. Quick and efficient site takes all the work out surfing numerous sites for the best deal. CanWest Raise-a-Reader [offsite link] Provides financial assistance and resources to family literacy programs and libraries. Unfortunately, there are many ads on the site but once you get through them there is literacy program resources, links for kids, and local campaign information. First Book  First Book claims there is a literary crisis in the United States. One of the main reasons for this is the lack of variety of literary resources available for young readers and the lack of funding to do anything about it. Since 1992 GirlEbooks  I came across this cute little site yesterday with the tag line "free ebooks by the gals" and I was instantly enamored. The site was started and is run by Laura McDonald who says she´s "finally making use of her BA in English she got 10 La Vie en Rose [offsite link] Books as gifts? Nothing new but this sites offers a complete care package to go with the book. Music, desserts, tea and socks. Cute site, easy to surf. Literary Terms [offsite link] Thomson Gale is a world leader in e-research and educational publishing for libraries, schools and businesses has an online glossary of literary terms such as Aestheticism, Gilded Age, Transcendentalism and many more. National Book Month  A month set aside for books. Seems like a strange event doesn´t it. I mean shouldn´t books be an every day thing? Of course, but National Book Month encourages a bit more reading for those who PEN American Center [offsite link] This association "works to advance literature, to defend free expression, and to foster international literary fellowship." Information on their support, programs, publications and international organization. Reading Journal  We read a lot of books over our lifetime. It is not always easy to remember what we did last week let alone the plot of a book we read a few years ago. Not every book moves to an easily embedded memory.
