Snowflakes with unusual techniques Free Tatting Patterns

Here the free tatting patterns use slightly more unusual techniques such as Node Stitch to create the tatted snowflakes and motifs.

Block Tatted Snowflake star[offsite link]
Here is a good snowflake pattern on which to practise block tatting, designed by Roger AKA Freedman. If you scroll down, there is another equally pretty snowflake pattern which will however require careful stiffening to form a perfect shape.

Crystal Snowflake star[offsite link]
This snowflake designed by Roger AKA Freedman may cause the beginner some difficulties because the size of the centre picot must be exact so that the chains lie flat around it. Careful control of tension is also required.

Debbie´s Wreath star[offsite link]
Here is a wreath designed by Gillian Buchanan for an SN Tatters exchange. The pattern includes a new variation of the Self Closing Mock Ring technique.

Double and Quadruple Picot Snowflake star[offsite link]
Here is a lovely snowflake enhanced by some interesting picot techniques.

Frilled Snowflake star[offsite link]
This design by Lisa Trumble makes use of Josephine Rings and set stitches/node stitch for an interesting effect.
