Romance Movies Information
August Rush If you’re looking for a feel-good movie, then the modern day fairy tale "August Rush" will fit the bill for a movie night with the girls. Australia Baz Luhrmann’s old-fashioned romantic drama “Australia” is long and sprawling, kind of an Australian “Gone with the Wind” with the same epic melodrama and lush romance. Starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. BBC´s Sense and Sensibility The BBC´s latest miniseries of an old Jane Austen favourite is a refreshing take on “Sense and Sensibility”. Closer Closer is a love story that examines how much love can hurt. Can anyone be trusted after the ultimate betrayal? Cruel Intentions In this modern, youthful version of a clasic French novel, it is not love that moves the elite, but power. Can a callous heart be swayed by innocence? Disappearing Acts In a departure from his roles as an action hero, Wesley Snipes and Sanaa Lathan bring one of Terry McMillian's novels to life. Elizabeth: The Golden Age Golden or just gold-plated? Looking at "Elizabeth: The Golden Age", starring Cate Blanchett and Clive Owen. Eros In this collaborative effort, three world famous directors take on one theme and here are the results. First Knight "First Knight" is a retooling of the Arthurian legends with no Merlin, Mordred or Lady of the Lake. But King Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot are still there, otherwise, it wouldn´t be a Arthurian film now, would it? For The Moment Before "A Good Year", Russell Crowe played the romantic leading man in a little known indie gem called "For The Moment”, a wartime romance set in rural Manitoba. Yes, Manitoba! London and Imagine Me and You Two directorial debuts about unexpected love hit theatres. Will either new director impress romance movie fans? Lucky You Gambling on "Lucky You", starring Eric Bana and Drew Barrymore. Miss Potter This movie marks the second wonderful pairing of Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor. And like Beatrix Potter´s stories, this postcard-pretty film moves at a gentle, sedate pace. Pride and Prejudice (2005) Crime writer Agatha Christie called Pride and Prejudice her favourite mystery novel, the mystery being in who marries whom. When this version of the “Pride and Prejudice” came out in 2005, some Jane Austen fans cried foul. Forget them, this version with Keira Knightley is pure delight. Romance, Italian Style Romantic movies set in Italy. Step Up "Every second chance begins with a first step." The Lake House "How do you hold on to someone you've never met?" The Last Kiss Just when he thinks he's got it all figured out, a woman enters his life and changes everything he thought he knew to be true. The Long Hot Summer Comparing the 1958 movie starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward with the 1985 tv movie starring Don Johnson and Judith Ivey. Hot or not? The Notebook The Notebook did well in theatres but is expected to truly soar with its release on DVD, which has a few great features. The Other Boleyn Girl "The Other Boleyn Girl", starring Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson and a ripped Eric Bana as Henry VIII is a glossy bodice ripper-style soap opera with plenty of scheming, betrayals and gorgeous costumes for lovers of historical romantic drama.
