An easy way to make sure you're getting enough activity throughout the day is to wear a pedometer and keep track of your daily steps. The common consensus is that active people should get around 10,000 steps a day in order to maintain their level of fitness. If you don't feel as if you are active enough, chances are pretty good you're falling short of the 10,000 mark. That's the fun of having a pedometer, though. Take more walks throughout the day, Go window shopping. Do some chores. Walk your dog. Play with your kids. These are all activities that can help you add on the steps.

Make Time to Dance

Another great way to get some exercise is to start dancing! Whether you take up ballroom dancing, learn hip hop dance by watching videos on Youtube, or just freestyle dance in the kitchen while preparing dinner, you can't deny that dancing is great exercise. Sneaking in a few dances throughout the day can also help you increase your step count if you wear a pedometer.

Exercise at Your Desk

Did you know that there are some exercises you can do at your desk throughout the day to help you stay in shape? Simple stretching exercising, isometric exercises, and even some calisthenics can all help you build muscle and get your heart rate up. If you have an office of your own, shut the door at lunch and do some more intense exercises, like pushups, crunches, and squats.

Go for a Walk

Walking is one of the easiest ways to get exercise that there is! All you need to do is open the door, go outside, and start walking. When you first start out, it's okay to walk at a slower pace. As you build up your fitness level, you can begin to walk faster. Just make sure you wear the right shoes!

These ideas will help you easily get and stay in shape. Before you start doing any physical activity, be sure to talk things out with your doctor.
