Let us look at the different stages of your daughter. In addition, see how you can create bonding activities that will leave lasting memories.
DAUGHTERS - Baby -2
For those dads that have the young ones quality time is simple. Take over feeding times for the day. Take over her personal care for the day. Take over reading time for the day, holding, singing, and gazing for the day. They say that pictures say a thousand words, take pictures of your memorable moments throughout the day, and make a scrapbook. Holding and nurturing will be the key for the day dad.
DAUGHTERS - 3-6
For those daughters that have reached this stage quality time is also very simple. Taking bike rides and going to the park will make for a busy day. Trips to the zoo or museum are always an adventure. Getting back to nature will also be an experience to remember. You can take hikes, camp out, and go fishing or even try planting a garden. Taking a trip to the library for story time for two is just what your daughter needs. Going to the movies is always a treat. You can also try dinner for two in the park as a picnic or maybe a sit down at a fast food restaurant. How does a paint day in the backyard sound! (with your fingers or feet).
DAUGHTERS - 7-18
Your daughter is well into those years of independence. It can be hard to find things that she is interested in doing with you because she is more mature. This is where it gets tricky. Take her to the store and buy her something memorable. Take her out on a date to a restaurant. Take her to laser tag or paintballing. Bike riding is perfect with a stop off for ice cream along the way. Take her to a WNBA game. Her self-esteem will be the big skill builder during these activities. Some of the father daughter activities may not improve your daughter’s self-esteem directly. However, when you take a whole day to spend time with her, you are showing her that she is worth every minute of the time you spend together.
FOR THE ADULT DAUGHTER
Father’s tend to handle the relationship a little differently when it comes to the adult daughter’s. Both father and daughter look more at what the relationship was built on, like love, trust, and friendship. Fathers are then in the role of either the trusted advisor or mentor. In addition, knowing the lines of communication will always be open for answers and questions for years to come.
Father’s are special people. Please take the time to show it. Even, if it is hard to do! Have a wonderful Father’s day to father’s around the world. In addition, an even better one for those mothers that are both (mother and father) in the absence of a father.
