Italian Style BurgersThese tasty hamburgers have spaghetti sauce in the ground beef and they're topped with Mozzarella cheese. Serve on lightly grilled Kaiser rolls or onion rolls for a delicious alternative to plain old hamburgers. - 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce
- 1 mild sweet onion - sliced thin
- 2 T. melted butter
- 4 thick slices mozzarella cheese
- 4 kaiser rolls or onion rolls
Preparation - Add the tomato sauce and seasonings to the ground beef. Mix well, let stand for about 10 minutes, then shape into 4 burger patties. Grill for about 5 to 6 minutes per side, or to desired doneness outside and totally free of any trace of pink in the center. While burgers are grilling, brush thin slices of onion with 1 T. melted butter and grill lightly. Brush sliced sides of buns with melted butter and grill lightly. Just before removing burgers from grill top each with a slice of Mozzarella. Place on burgers on grilled buns and top with grilled onions.
