Summer Golf Shoes

Summer Golf Shoes
Come summer time many golfers look for a good comfortable shoe to wear playing golf. I for one was never interested in the sandal golf shoe. They looked clunky to me and easy to get sand filled when hitting out of sand traps. It seems we still can get into the sand traps any time of the year but with summer sandals it can be painful. My great find two years ago was a shoe with a mesh type body with leather trim and one strap with Velcro closures on instep strap and another back by the heel. This golf shoe is white and was made by FootJoy called the LaPro Collection.

I have found this summer since purchasing these shoes I would like another pair in a different color. I find out doing a research at FootJoy that they are no longer available. What a shame when you find a shoe so comfortable to wear even without socks then FootJoy takes it off the market and it is no longer available. The shoes can be worn barefoot and your feet stay dry inside as the contour insert of suede material with spongy insert that stays comfortable.

The best thing about these shoes is that you can throw them in the washing machine and they come out brilliant white. I then place them outside in the sunshine to dry and they look as good as new. The picture of these shoes that follow were taken recently after a couple rounds of golf and are due for another cycle in the washing machine. With the two Velcro straps you can make them fit any size foot which is a plus.

It is a shame when FootJoy brings out a new shoe design and in a year or so take it off the market. I have written about this shoe before but needed to write again when I was disappointed it was no longer available. I would have liked a tan design but will have to look into another shoe brand. I love the FootJoy brand as they are well made and at a reasonable price. I have several pairs of golf shoes that are kept in a cabinet in my garage. In the summer after removing my golf shoes I stuff them full of dry sheets that I use in my dryer. It keeps them fresh and helps dry the inside of the shoe after playing 18 holes of golf in summer or winter.

Still in good shape after two years of wear.
