Recipe for Healthier Chocolate Cake

This recipe is moist, rich, and chocolatey - just like a regular chocolate cake. However, it has a fraction of the fat and calories. To make it even healthier, consider buying organic ingredients if you can. Follow this recipe and you can enjoy chocolate cake without al the guilt!
1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
1 ripe banana, mashed with a fork
1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt (2% is preferred, but low-fat is okay)
1/3 cup raw honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons smooth almond butter
1 tablespoon cold pressed olive oil
1 large egg, scrambled with a fork
3/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Icing, optional
Confectioners' sugar, optional (for dusting)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease an 8-inch cake pan with butter and then dust with flour, or spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
Mix the apple sauce and banana together in a large bowl using a wooden spoon. Stir in the Greek yogurt, honey, vanilla extract, almond butter, olive oil, and egg. Set aside.
Whisk together the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, and baking soda. Beat into the wet ingredients using a large whisk or an electric mixer. Don't over mix - you should mix it for no more than two minutes. Your goal is to make a smooth batter.
Using a spatula, fold in the chocolate chips. Pour batter into the cake pan. Place the pan in the center of the oven. Bake until cooked all the way through and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. This should take about 30-35 minutes.
Remove the cake from the oven. Let it set for about 10 minutes and then remove it from the pan. Let it cool on a rack. Once it's cool, consider icing it or dusting it with Confectioners' Sugar.
