A new year is upon us and with it comes our annual New Year's resolutions. While many of us focus on personal health goals, like losing a certain amount weight or eating more plant-based foods, others focus on adding more adventures into our life. And nothing says adventure like an RV road trip.

Perhaps you are one of the fortunate RVers that is already realizing your RV dreams and now you're living it up in a posh motorcoach resort in Palm Springs. If so, I'm thrilled for you! But if you're like many of us, your rig may be spending too much idle time parked next to your house or gathering dust in storage. If that's you, it's time to add one more exciting resolution to your list-—more RV trips! Then sit down and make firm plans to dust off your RV and get those wheels spinning down the highway.

Below are a few ideas on trips you can take in the next year that will sure to add some fun adventure to your life.

Visit Quartzsite
Start the New Year off with a trip to Quartzsite, Arizona. This tiny desert town hosts one of the largest RV gatherings each year beginning in January. For more information, check out two of my previous articles, "The Greatest DVD on Quartzsite" Review and an RV Trip to Quartzsite, Arizona.

Go to Burning Man
Tens of thousands of people make an annual pilgrimage to attend Burning Man, an annual event dedicated to "community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance." Burning Man is held each year during the week leading up to Labor Day in Nevada's Black Rock Desert. Going to Burning Man is certainly a way to add some adventure to your year. Since the best accessory you can have at this event is an RV, you're already halfway there.

Attend an RV Rally
Each year, the Good Sam RV club hosts at least one awesome RV rally, aptly called The Rally. Luckily, in 2012 there will be three of them! These are fabulous events for Rvers that feature workshops, live entertainment, vendor tents to explore, and tons of RVs for touring.

Explore New Parks
No matter where you live, there are going to be plenty of privately owned or state, county or regional parks within a short drive from you that you haven't been to. Commit to making reservations to at least five of them! Who knows, you might just find your new favorite vacation spot.

Do a National Park Tour
Get your national park pass and passport book, and head out to see as many national parks and monuments as you can. Getting your passport book stamped at all of the places you visit is just one of the highlights to this kind of tour.

Visit Amusement Parks
Hop behind the wheel of your RV and go find some thrills. Many amusement parks have RV parks on site, so you won't have too far of a commute from the campground to the roller coasters.

Take a Front Yard Tour
Got plenty of time and want to spend quality time with loved ones? Make a plan to visit as many friends and relatives as you can over the year—especially those that can offer you some yard or curb space—and spend as much time during the year building strong connections.
