BellaOnline Policy on Advertorial Content

Occasionally individuals or groups write us and want to supply content to us. Often times this content is non-unique or is a nearly-the-same rewrite of content found elsewhere on the web. Infrequently the content is indeed unique. In almost all cases the purpose of the supplier is to then run ad links or promotions with that provided content which links their chosen websites.

There are many reasons that BellaOnline would never run duplicate or even mostly-similar content that is found elsewhere on the web. A primary reason is that nearly all search engines, including Google, spot those similar phrases and inflict harsh penalties on the sites that are non-unique. There is no reason for Google to link to us if they can link to the other sites that had the content first. So adding this content to our sites would not help us. Rather, it would cause us serious harm and loss of ranking.

It is also important to note that BellaOnline never runs press releases, nor do we run promotional copy. So a review of a book would need to include both the good and not-so-good about the book. It could not simply focus on the benefits of the book. A review of a city could not act as a press release or promotion for that city. It would be sure to mention that down sides of visiting, along with its review of the popular attractions.

If a writer wishes to provide fully authentic, custom written content for BellaOnline, then we strongly encourage them to sign up with us as the editor for one of our topic areas! Since our mission is to train writers on how to provide weekly content, we do not accept one-off content submissions. Nor do we take occasional submissions which have a longer-than-weekly gap. This stream of content is not regular enough to keep visitors engaged.

Additionally, every author needs to be trained in our guidelines - and certified to understand the rules of plagiarism - before we post their content on our website.
