Wishing you Autumn greetings! I love fall in Southern California. Yes, it's still sunny and warm more days than not, but among the palms there are some maples and elms whose leaves change color. And on occasion, the morning air gets crisp and blustery calling for scarves and light jackets.

The seasons bring an opportunity to reflect upon changes in life. Recently, a reader wrote to ask me why her husband had up and left her after 43 years of marriage, without a word of explanation. He gave little hint of dissatisfaction, she said, throughout their marriage. I found that hard to believe. After some reflection, she realized that the signs were there, but ever-so-slight that she hadn't taken notice as she busily attended to life.
