Hello again
How do deaf people cope with an emergency? How will they hear the emergency or be able to contact an emergency service provider. It's not something hearing people ever need to think about. Emergencies have a nasty habit of occurring in the middle of the night. Most deaf or hearing impaired people don’t wear their hearing aids to bed so how do they know if there is an emergency? This is very difficult for those who cannot hear.
But not only that many people can't use a phone. These days phone companies are offering SMS text emergency services. Have a look at my latest article and also visit the forum where there's more information about a text service in the UK.
