Wo bleibt der Fruehling?..... "Where is Spring?".....that is the question in Germany at the moment, but it is March, so officially spring if not in reality, and there are quite a few famous 'Spring' birthdays.
In March they include Rudolf Diesel, inventor of the Diesel engine, on March 18, 1858, and Albert Einstein March 14, 1879, and here are two more of the many.
A woman who, despite a difficult childhood and judged to have no prospects, became a ground breaking astronomer, and a world famous composer left an orphan at ten but one with music 'in his blood' and surroundings.
CAROLINE HERSCHEL, sister of William Herschel who discovered Uranus, a pioneer in her own right, she cataloged stars, nebula, and was the first woman to discover a comet. She was also the first woman astronomer to earn a salary, acquire honors, and be accepted into scientific organizations usually open only to men.

JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH the last of the Baroque era composers, and recognized as one of the greatest geniuses in music history. However there was relatively little appreciation of his more than one thousand works during his lifetime, and after his death they were consigned to history.
