April 13 2011 Living Simply Newsletter

Sometimes we think our homes need a huge makeover, but we can actually achieve more by doing little and often. It is with that in mind that this week I am launching the Living Simply Weekly Challenge. Each week I will give you a small task to reduce clutter or simplify your life. The Weekly Challenge will be posted in the newsletter and on the forum and I welcome your feedback.

For the first week I challenge you to get rid of just 10 books from your home. I'm sure if you look around there are 10 or more books you don't want or need any more. Give them to a friend, donate them to a library or thrift store, but instead of letting them sit unused taking up space in your home, release them to a place where they will be read.

The rule is they must leave your house, putting them in the garage or into storage doesn't count.

If you get rid of 10 books from your house, post on the forum "I've completed the challenge". Tell us how you got rid of them, where you sent them. And if you get rid of more than 10, let us know that too.

The challenge ends midnight your time (wherever you are) on Tuesday April 19th. There will be another challenge on Wednesday April 20th.

With the challenge in mind, here are this week's articles
