Wicked Women - Classic Beer Series from Brewsters Brewing
Few women have been recorded as figures who have changed the course of history and often, when recognized, they are immortalized as "wicked pleasure seekers."  Perhaps they were all women of brilliance, confident enough with their own self-presence to create a lasting impression.or maybe they were truly "wicked women."

Beer Fox Tip of the Week:

When matching beer with meats, choose those that will make the food more interesting. So, how is this best accomplished?

View the beer as a "sauce."

Draw attention to the "char" of meats with a malty beer that echoes the caramelization inherent to pan-seared, roasted, broiled or barbecued cuts. e.g. Brown Ale, Scottish Ales, Baltic Porter.

Draw out the saltiness of some cuts with a complex Belgian Beer that will act as a glaze, adding a fruitiness to the palate.  e.g. Belgian tripel, Belgian Witbier.

For meats high in fat, you may desire a highly hopped beer to cut the fat on your tongue.  e.g. India Pale Ale, Double IPA, Imperial Stout.

Beer Fox Laugh of the Week:

A blonde wanted to buy a TV, so she went into the store. She found one she wanted, and asked the shop assistant what the price was. "I'm sorry, we don't serve blondes," his reply was. The blonde walked out, and got her hair colored into red.

Next day, she walked in, and asked the shop assistant how much her chosen TV was. "I'm sorry, we don't serve blondes," his reply was again. She was confused. So, again, she walked out. She got her hair colored into black.

Next day, she walked in, and asked how much was her chosen TV. "I'm sorry,
we don't serve blondes!" his reply was again. Now the blonde was really confused.

"How did you know I was a blonde?" asked the girl. "Well, because what you've got there is a microwave."

A truck driver amused himself by running over lawyers as they walked down the side of the road. Every time he saw a lawyer walking along the road, he would swerve to hit him. There would be a loud "thud", and then he would swerve back on the road.

As the truck driver drove along one day, he saw a priest hitch hiking, he pulled over and asked the priest, "Where are you going, Father?"

The priest said he was on his way to his church up the road.

"I'll give you a lift."

The priest climbed into the passenger seat and the truck driver continued down the road. Suddenly, the truck driver saw a lawyer walking down the road and instinctively swerved to hit him. At the last minute, he remembered he had a priest in the truck and swerved back onto the road.
Even though he knew he missed the lawyer, he still heard a loud "thud." Unsure of where the noise came from, he glanced in his mirrors. When he didn't see anything, he turned to the priest and said, "I'm sorry, Father.  I almost hit a lawyer."

The priest replied, "That's OK, I got him with the door."

Craft Brew of the Week Award:

Trumer Pils - Trumer Brauerei Berkeley, Berkeley, California, USA
Style - German Pilsener

Pours as a diamond-esque clear golden straw body with a dense, off-white head and persistent carbonation.  The slick head slowly fades to a light collar, leaving delicate webs of lace on the glass.

A clean, spicy aroma of herbal quality intoxicates the inner recesses of your nose, while grainy malt sweetness greets the tongue, balanced by a spicy, floral grand slam of German Hops.  The finish is crisp and dry, wholly quaffable!

Cheers!
