On April 15 Berthold Beitz, Humanitarian and Philanthropist, was awarded the Lev Kopelev Prize for Peace and Justice in Cologne, Germany.
One of Israel's 'Righteous Among the Nations', Berthold Beitz is a German Industrialist who saved the lives of hundreds of Jewish adults and children from the Holocaust in wartime Poland, was a main contributor in the rebuilding of Germany's reputation, and was described by US President John F. Kennedy when he met him as, 'Finally a German who isn't uptight'.
