Hi! It took 15 months for me to do my follow-up visit with my hearing specialist. I owed money on the account which the insurance denoted as my co-pay. I wouldn't go back until the bill was paid. At the follow-up I was pleased to learn that my hearing level was the same. There was no further loss. Yes! Again I was told that hearing aides would be helpful to me when the time was right.
It took another month and repeated chiding from my husband, "When are you going to call the hearing aid people?"
This week I've written about my visit with the audiologist who fitted me for hearing aids. If you or someone you know suffers hearing loss, I hope you'll read the article and send the link for the article to family and friends to encourage them to take the steps needed to hear the world they're missing!
You can find the article my Senior Living site at BellaOnline.com.
I want to hear what I'm missing
After a hearing loss is diagnosed, and if hearing aids will help, the audiologist will do a fitting. Get a first-hand report of a hearing aid fitting.

The weather has been pretty nice, though there is a little messy stuff coming back to visit us for a couple of days. Travel weather isn't far off now. Despite the horrible cost of gasoline and threats of $4 per gallon this summer, my husband and I are planning our first vacation alone since our honeymoon! We're going to North Carolina. It will be an eight to 10 hour drive. We'll start early in the morning.
I'm looking forward to the vacation, to doing something together, just my husband and me. But I'll also be looking for fodder for articles to inform and entertain you. So, stay tuned to Senior Living at BellaOnline.com, your home for fun and friendship in your golden years.
Do you have a favorite tourist hot spot between Northeast Ohio and the North Carolina/South Carolina border? Let me know and I'll try to work it into our itinerary and write about it at Senior Living. You can contact me by email at seniorliving@bellaonline.com.
