Hello from beautiful Northeast Ohio!
It may appear that your editor's attention is on older authors only. That may be because your editor is a writer and hangs out with other writers. I'm looking for other success stories among the older generation, so drop me a line to let me know about these folks. I want to talk to them, too, and promote their successes. My goal is to encourage every golden-ager to reach for the gold ring. We're not just older. We're better and getting better everyday! What's your story?
I am working on some other things for Senior Living, including veterans' issues, insurance coverage for seniors as well as fun things like crafts, hobbies, entertainment and travel.
I was surprised to see that Goldie Hawn is in the 60-plus crowd, but I know she's older than me, so it must be true. And Susan Sarandon is on the verge of 60-plus...at age 59. (And my daughter is upset because she'll never see her 20s again as of 12:02 a.m. today.) I remember Sarandon 35 years ago on the soap opera, A Time For Us. Or was that the name of the theme song? Anyone remember it? It preceded All My Children with another oldie (sorry) but goodie, Susan "Erica Cane" Lucci.
Gosh! Where did the years go?!
The feature article. This week I'm sharing with you an interview with another author who published her first novel at age 70. Not only that, but she had to buy out her publisher and start her own publishing company to regain control of her book.
I hope you will enjoy the interview and get to know Carolyn Garriott. She's a very personable individual. You can also read my review of her book at the Senior Living at BellaOnline site.
Here's the latest article from the Senior Living site at BellaOnline.com.

The thermometer (outdoors) is right around 80 degrees today in Northeast Ohio. Fantastic! It's a gorgeous day with cottonball clouds rolling by between me and the blue, blue sky. If I can't be out there, I still have the window open. I'm catching the views of new buds on the old oak tree and birds...robins, cardinals, and small birds I can't identify resting in the branches. A gentle breeze slips through the screen from time to time.
It looks like I'll have to trade my hot tea for iced tea for a few months...Except for the early morning. There's nothing like sitting outside early in the morning, before traffic begins to move, with a cup of hot tea, birdsongs and calm...oh, yeah.
I'll leave you with that thought because the image it projects is such a peaceful, tranquil one.
Til next time,
Cathy
