Here's the latest article from the German Culture site at BellaOnline.com, this week covering:
A Tragedy in Duisburg
Most of the time the media in Germany consider not only their own country but the world in general to be the sources for their news features and comments, however this is one of those weeks when the headlines in Germany have been dominated mainly by one topic, the Love Parade tragedy in Duisburg.
Its beginnings were in 1989 in a still divided Berlin, a small demonstration for peace and understanding through music, and it became one of the worlds most popular musical festivals, but in 2010 the latest Love Parade ended with 21 deaths and over 500 injured in the Ruhr town of Duisburg.
