Are you traveling the world for a beer experience this summer? Tim Webb and Stephen Beaumont offer these tips in “The World Atlas of Beer”:

France: “Always nod, make eye contact, and wish customers “Bonjour!” when entering a café.”
Italy: “Expect to pay as much for fine beer as you would for a wine of good quality.”
Netherlands: “Bars with peanuts expect the shells to be thrown on the floor to keep it oiled.”
Czech Republic: “Etiquette dictates that men enter bars ahead of women – to check for brawling.”
Australia: “Australians are fanatical about ice-cold beer. The further north you go, the hotter it gets, so beer glasses get correspondingly smaller to prevent the beer from getting warm before you finish it.”
Canada: “In Quebec, expect to order your beer by colour: blanche for a wheat beer, brune for a brown ale, rouse for amber ale or lager and noir for a stout.”
Japan: “In many bars, the glasses are small, so you can share your beer with friends.”
