James, the half-brother of Jesus and a pillar of the early church, wrote on becoming a mature Christian. He felt that if we were going to talk the talk we should walk the walk. This is my second article of my James series.
The Bible on Favoritism
The book of James is filled with practical wisdom about growing a faith that works. James’ teaching was written to Jewish Christians and aimed at developing spiritually mature believers. In chapter 2, James continues his theme by pointing out the sin of favoritism.
"Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!" James 2:12-13 (NIV)
