Ban on Women in Combat Lifted After Suit
The military ban on women in combat has created a "brass ceiling" for service women. Colonel Ellen Haring and Command Sgt. Major Jane Baldwin sued the Department of Defense, challenging the constitutionality of the ban. Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta has announced an end to the ban.
