Deafness

February 24 2010 Deafness Newsletter

Today I received two lovely emails from readers saying how much my advice and information has helped them. Thank you to them. I would like to hear from you if you find my information good (or bad). And if you would like to know about something I haven't covered then let me know.

My 2nd CI operation recovery is going very well. I was back at work today for 4 hours (urgh!) The telemetry tests (testing to make sure the implant is working) were 100% and in addition I was able to hear different pitches and know which was higher or lower. This is apparently very good just two days post op (when the test was run).

Here's the latest article from the Deafness site at BellaOnline.com.

Communicating with confidence
One of the first things we lose as we go deaf is confidence. It is fear of rejection, because we might make a fool of ourselves which is the main cause. But there is no need to passively accept it. You can take steps to improve your confidence.
