Only a few more days of Advent and then it will be Heiligabend, Christmas Eve and in Germany that means the beginning of the twelve days of Weihnachten.

Christmas in Germany really does last until Twelfth Night, after which the various celebrations leading up to Carnival take over the job of brightening the winter days.
