In the Bible, God is given many names. Each name tells us something about His character and in order to grasp Who God is, we study these names.

El-Shaddai means God Almighty, God Most High, God of the Mountains or God Who is Sufficient.

Jehovah-Shalom means “the Lord our Peace.” This attribute of God is found in the Bible, in the book of Judges.

Jehovah-Nissi is one of the names for God found in the Bible. It describes one of His many attributes, meaning The Lord our Banner.

The Bible contains names of God that descibe His many attributes. Meditating on these names brings us closer to Him and helps us to be aware of Who He is.

There is much talk today, among earnest Christians, about finding one’s purpose. “I must find my place in this life.” “What is my purpose?” “What is my mission in life?”

When I picked up this book I was fairly excited. I had heard many people rave over it. They said that once they started reading they couldn’t put it down.

Am I so intent on looking for the end of my trouble – looking to see how I can fix it – that I miss what Jesus is doing now? Am I missing His every day miracles?

In continuing the Bible study of the Lord’s pattern for prayer, this week I respectfully urge you to admit that you are not perfect.
