I'm still trying to understand forgiveness. In my humanness, I tend to forgive when it suits me, when I think the offender deserves it. If they knew better, but they did it anyway, I push them away and I'm slow at welcoming them back.
Fields of the Fatherless book review
Fields of the Fatherless is historical fiction, based on actual events. It is an accurate presentation of the events of a brutal battle as seen through the eyes of those caught in its midst.
As a child, freedom meant being released from rules and schedules. As an adult it was living in a free country. Neither of these really guarantees freedom. We all live under the power of another.
We are apt to follow a leader who emanates self-confidence, has strong speaking ability, and a captivating personality. We imagine they have never made mistakes and were always law abiding citizens.
A name is a significant thing. Upon hearing the name of someone we've never seen, we begin to form a picture. We begin to create their identity.
Do we praise God enough? I mean apart from being exuberant while singing praise songs, accompanied by the praise band. Is there ever a doxology in your conversation?
