“I can remember the day I tried to bring up the issue about perimenopause with my doctor, only to be dismissed by her saying ‘You’re too young for that.’ I was too embarrassed to say what I really thought, ‘I don’t care what your medical texts said; it’s my body and I know something’s different!’ I vowed to learn as much as I can in order to deal with this inevitable phase and topic many of us find hard to talk about. It’s time for us to get proactive with our bodies and our minds.”
Tammy is a professional writer embarking on a new career and trekking through the bewildering world of perimenopause. She holds an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree and her employment experience includes working as an insurance underwriter and legal administrator. She has also taken some interesting turns for adventure; teaching English in Poland; traveling and learning Czech, French and Spanish; working in military communications, and even jumping out of a perfectly good plane! Life is all about making the most of opportunities when they come along and not letting menopause slow her down one bit.
Let’s share our knowledge and strength. This new phase of life is a beginning and not an ending. Forget the teen years – these are the best years of our lives!
