When I was nine years old, my mother encouraged me to play softball, to keep me busy for the summer. I´ve been in love with the sport ever since. I played almost entirely through all my years in school, earning the "most improved" award when I was a ninth grader. As an adult, I think I had even more fun playing on slow pitch teams because there was less pressure, but, because of all the conditioning I had early on, I played as if I was still competing at the high school level.
My daughter has been playing softball now for six years and I have learned even more, through helping her. I don´t know if she knows just how excited I am to watch her practices and games, and see her improving every year. I stumbled across the Bellaonline website, ironically, when looking for directions on how to keep score for my daughter´s team.
I have always loved to read and write and find that I can express myself or convey an idea much better if I write it down or type it, rather than say it aloud. I hope I can help or inspire someone else with the love I have of softball and writing about it.
