I have a B.S. Degree in Written Communications from Eastern Michigan University to where my son is now working on his BBA. More than anything, I love to write. I have recently finished writing a 330 page book to which I a looking to get published in the near future. I have had 5 poems published: “The Guitar” and “Reformation” in The National Poetry Association, “People Junkie” in Poetry Explosion Newsletter, “Do you See Me?” in Poetry Forum and “Optical Illusion” In Masters Thesis Public Written Communications: A Reference Guide (DePaul University).

Twelve years ago I was told by a heart surgeon I had 3 to 5 years to live if I did not have open-heart surgery to repair a deteriorated mitral valve. I took a lot of personal and spiritual inventory during my surgery recovery period. One of the promises I made to myself was to realign my life with my creative passions. Writing for the Bella Creativity site is an honor and an exciting opportunity for me to draw on all my past creative experiences in life and ongoing enthusiasm for this exciting topic as well as the transformative process I believe people have to go through to come out on the other side of creativity. I look forward to writing each week for the readers who visit this site.
Some personal insight about me…I’ve lived in Michigan my whole life and have been married to Phil for 24 years; we have one son, Matthew. Other than being an artist and writer I am a Bill Phillips exercise enthusiast and a Detroit Pistons and Lions sports fan. I love to take my adorable wheaten terrier on daily nature walks, biking and enjoy playing pool and chess.
