Susan Gaissert has a B.A. in English from Rutgers University. She has worked as a technical writer, editor, and proofreader for the past thirty years. She has also been a loyal, voting member of the Democratic Party for the past thirty-three years.

Susan spent a large part of 2008 working as a Regional Coordinator with MoveOn.org and as a volunteer for the Obama campaign. About a thousand hours, eight-hundred phone calls, and two-hundred door knocks later, she was proud to be one of the millions who could say that they helped make President Obama’s inauguration possible.

Now, she is delighted to be working with BellaOnline, combining her love of writing with her passion for Democratic politics. Susan is also a happy housewife, with a supportive husband who shares her political beliefs and a charming, homeschooled daughter who is used to hearing about current events at the dinner table.
