Helen is a long-time fan of scifi TV, with seven years of experience in the world of entertainment and lifestyle journalism. For three years she also ran a pet-sitting business, but now she´s a stay-at-home mom. She lives in the north suburbs of Chicago with her husband and son Noel.

In her spare time, Helen volunteers at the Brookfield Zoo, the Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio and in general keeps busy! She loves reading, watching soccer, the Chicago Cubs, NCAA basketball and buying DVDs of old TV shows.

Helen´s favorite scifi shows of all time include "Doctor Who," "Earth 2" "The X-Files," the old "Battlestar Galactica" and "Star Trek: The Next Generation." This season she´s gotten addicted to "Torchwood" and is getting back into "Heroes" via DVD boxed set. Next up will be the first season of "Veronica Mars," which she will admit she has never seen before. But she´ll watch anything related to the genre, especially since it seems there´s less and less true scifi TV out there. Her favorite movies are the "Star Wars" films (Episodes IV through VI) and "The Princess Bride."
