Helen is a long-time fan of scifi TV, with thirteen years of experience in the world of professional entertainment and lifestyle journalism. For three years she also ran a pet-sitting business, but now she´s a stay-at-home mom who freelances part-time for a Chicago tourism magazine. She lives in the north suburbs of Chicago with her husband and son.

In her spare time, Helen volunteers at the Brookfield Zoo and the Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio and in general keeps busy! She enjoys reading, video games, soccer, NCAA basketball and buying DVDs of old TV shows.

Helen´s favorite scifi shows of all time include "Doctor Who," "Earth 2" "The X-Files," the old "Battlestar Galactica" and "Star Trek: The Next Generation." This season she´s gotten addicted to "Torchwood" and swears she will get back into "24." But she´ll watch anything related to the genre, especially since it seems there´s less and less true scifi TV out there. Her favorite movies are the "Star Wars" films (Episodes IV through VI) and "The Princess Bride."
