Anime Basics

Whether you're a long-time anime fan or are new to the genre, Anime Basics will provide helpful information. You'll fine an anime glossary, learn the history of anime, have information about anime clubs and conventions at your fingertips, and more.

The first chapter of Anime Basics gives an introduction to the anime genre. You will learn what anime is, what hentai is, and learn the definitions of some of the common used words that are used in conjunction with anime. This section also includes the piece, "Children and Anime," which gives tips to parents on how they can determine what kind of anime is suitable for their children. In this chapter, you will also find a listing of anime resources, as well as a piece about fansubs (what they are, the history behind them, and the effect they have had on the anime industry).

Chapter two covers the history of the anime genre. The first piece is "Anime History: The Beginning," which covers the beginning of the 1900's through the early 1960's. The next piece in this chapter is "Anime History: Mighty Atom to Akira," which covers the early 1960's through 1989. The final piece in chapter two is "Anime History: Akira to Now," which covers 1990 to the present day.

The third chapter of Anime Basics provides a listing of anime clubs, along with contact information. Both United States and international anime clubs are included in this section. This chapter is split into eleven sections: Northeastern United States, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Southeastern United States, Midwestern United States, Illinois, Southwestern United States, Western United States, California, and International.

The final chapter of the ebook provides a listing of anime conventions, as well as websites for each convention. Both United States and international conventions are included. As a bonus, I have also included the piece "What is Cosplay?" in this section, since cosplay is such an important aspect of anime conventions. This anime conventions in this chapter are split into seven regions: Northeastern United States, Southeastern United States, Midwestern United States, Southwestern United States, Western United States, and two international sections (one section covers Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, and the second section covers Asia, Australia, and Europe).

Anime Basics is 83 pages in length, and is being sold for $3.99 US. Payment is accepted via PayPal.
