Chronicles of Narnia Clues : The White Witch's Army Mocks and Jeers Aslan

Edmund Pevensie is convicted of treachery in C. S Lewis' book, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The penalty for treachery is death. Aslan consents to die in Edmund Pevensie’s place. Calmly, Aslan approaches the Stone Table.

The White Witch’s army line the path to the Stone Table. They realize Aslan is not going to attack them, so they issue all kinds of jeers. They jab the mighty lion. Words of mockery ring the night air. Only moments before the cowards were quiet knowing a swipe of Aslan’s paw could cause great bodily harm.

Queen Jadis, the White Witch joins the frenzied crowd. She shouts for the lion to be bound with stout ropes. The minions do her bidding all the while continuing their ridicule. The White Witch demands a muzzle for Aslan. If Aslan cares to do so, he could easily bite the creatures. Yet, Aslan does not move to attack the White Witch’s followers.

Aslan’s pacifism ignites the White Witch. She directs the others to shave Aslan’s mane. Her eyes gleam in the night. The flames from the fire dance in her evil eyes. She stands over the Stone Table which holds the bound lion. In her hand, she holds a wicked looking dagger. She pulsates with the desire to plunge it into her enemy, Aslan. The creatures circling the Stone Table are jumping and crying names at Aslan.
