There are different types of paranormal phenomena reported at true that relate to automobiles, roads and highways. According to the types of experiences reported, both haunted events and ghosts are reported. Many of the ghostly experiences and haunted places include events that happen at night.

The ghosts seen along roads and highways have different appearances. Some are wispy, white and have vaguely human shapes. Some ghosts may only appear as partial apparitions. Some ghosts are full-bodied apparitions and may even get in the car and start a conversation.

Some ghosts walk along old roads and highways in groups. Some of these groups wear clothing from different eras including the missionary era. Full-bodied apparitions sometimes show up at the spot where they were killed. This type of full-bodied apparition may then get a ride with a driver only to disappear before arrival at the destination. The ghost's destination may be their old home. Some ghosts seem to be able to move quickly beside a car. Some ghosts appear in front of a vehicle almost causing an accident.

Unexplainable stories about cars include phantom cars that can be heard yet not seen. On some rare occasions, a phantom car may be both heard and its headlights may be viewed in the rear view mirror. Sometimes, it is only upon finishing a turn and expecting the phantom car behind to pass by that it is discovered that there was no car there at all despite what may have been heard or seen.

Phantom vehicles have been heard to pull up in a driveway and then it is soon discovered that there is no vehicle in the driveway. Pets and owners sometimes react together to this type of phenomenon. Cars can also be involved in phantom funeral processions. In one instance, a passed on spirit was seen sitting in the front seat of the family car when her own funeral was over.

Though many types of ghosts and haunted events that people report as true can occur at any hour of the day or night (except for the phantom funeral processions), there are many instances of the phenomena that are reported to have happened at night. Are we able to focus better on the weird stuff when the sun goes down and our headlights go on?

Ghosts and haunted events seem to have a few favorite hangouts including cars, roads and highways. Where ever there are cars and roads, there are also a variety of ghosts and haunted roads that can feature historical entities and modern ghosts. While many of these types of stories are reported, it is rare to experience this type of paranormal phenomenon.
