My Ladies Links For Golf magazine had a feature article on Juli Inkster stating that she is like the energizer bunny at age 50. Juli has had a remarkable career in professional golf from a teenager to the present day and this article covered it all. This was a remarkable story and Lisa Freeman is an award-winning professional writer and a partner in Ladies Links For Golf held my interest to the very end.

There was a lot I knew about Juli Inkster as I have always been interested in the LPGA golfers. This article helped fill in so much more about Juli that gave me more respect for her golfing ability plus able to raise two daughters while still pursuing her career. I love it when a person has a gift and works with passion to perfect that gift. Golfing was part of her early work experience at a golf course that turned her into golf. This should be a model for all youngsters to find your talent at an early age and then work at it for a lifetime.

I can’t imagine what it took to have two small children with you on the tour. This takes dedication as you move from one tournament to another and living in a hotel. It also takes lots of love to keep the girls happy and content as it seems it worked. In this article Lisa Freeman says while she was interviewing Juli, they could hear the girls giggling at some of her responses. It seems the girls have excelled and still love to travel because of all the experience of visiting so many parts of the world. This shows that Juli was a dedicated mother too making the travel a time to educate her daughters.

Juli Inkster had her share of winning golf tournaments and being a big part of the LPGA tour. She gives credit of her support system of her parents, in-laws, husband Brian, nanny and coach to make this all possible. It has to be a hectic schedule and Juli continue her winning ways and is hoping to make it to that winners circle in 2011 tour events. She has played in Solheim Cup competition eight times and holds the record of the most total points of 18 in one event.

I loved the remarks by Beth Daniels, Captain of the 2009 Solheim Cup outside Chicago that late one night she saw Juli leading a group of young girls out to the practice green for putting practice. I remember watching that tournament as I love this format as it makes you a team player for your country but also you have to play different types of scrambles and a one-on-one player the last day.

It interested me as it shows just what club Juli uses as a Callaway driver and three wood, two Hybrid and Callaway Diablo irons. Three sand wedges by Ping with 58, 54, 50 degrees but it did not give what putter she uses. I thought this was good choices as I also use Callaway and carry three Hybrid clubs and Callaway irons. My putter is over 50 years old and not parting with that one. Only wish my game would start coming together, I think I have too many outside interest that keep creeping into my mind during those 18 holes of play. July had one remark that I have told others, “I think the longer you stay active and the longer you do what you love, the younger it keeps you.” So true and as I have told others, make the most of whatever age you are and live it to the fullest. You will never regret growing older.
