Progress in Mill Creek

Progress in Mill Creek
Sometimes we just have to be patient and believe that progress is a good thing. Even in little steps we have to believe that Mill Creek members will eventually be a member only golf club. Terry Dill still believes this can be a reality and working with the present owner means we have to put forth more effort and pledges to reach out goals. Terry met with our Mill Creek Association board recently and explained the progress on the purchase. He asked if our association would help publicize another large gathering of Mill Creek residents and the community of Salado to explain this progress

The Mill Creek Association board informed Terry that our newsletter would be going out first part of November and we could alert all 675 residents of Mill Creek of this meeting. I will be putting the finishing touches to the newsletter and it will include an announcement of this meeting and its importance. The meeting is set for November 15 with hopes that we can receive the remaining pledges so work can begin on the renovation of the golf course when all details are completed. Terry also wanted me to come up with some suggestions of individuals who would become an advisory board for the future Salado Golf Club at Mill Creek.

Mill Creek Community Association is more than willing to work with Terry Dill as this board realizes how important the golf course is to Mill Creek and Salado. With our newsletter we can inform all residents of items important to our community and our golf course. Our school printing department prints our newsletter. This gives them a way to raise money for their department. They print this newsletter in color so it makes a nice presentation.

Once the newsletter is printed and folded their instructor delivers them to me and I seal them and label them getting them ready to mail. The post office has many changes in bulk mailing so I have to keep up on what is changed. Sometimes it surprises me and tell me of another change so I take the mailing back home and make the changes on every one mailed. I am sure I have everything covered this time so they should be mailed out in plenty of time before this November 15th meeting requested by Terry Dill. Terry will introduce an advisory board at this meeting and the final steps we have to take to become a full member owned golf course.

This advisory board will meet twice before the November meeting so everyone will be informed of our progress. Terry Dill will be President of this advisory group and we will decide the rest of the organization board offices at our first meeting next week. A permanent board will be elected once we have finally taken ownership of the Salado Golf Club at Mill Creek. Our Salado weekly newspaper has published several articles about this purchase and is strongly behind the project. We need the full community of Salado to make this purchase happen.
