Low Carb Success Story - Little Mother

Low Carb Success Story - Little Mother
Little Mother is physically challenged and uses an electric wheelchair. Despite her limited mobility, a low carb diet helped her lose weight and get her diabetes under control.

Here is her story, in her own words!

----------------------

As someone who has gotten rid of 51 pounds and 16 inches I understand about the low carbs and how they work. I started May 7, 2003. As someone who is physically challenged using and electric wheel chair it makes a statement that the program does work. I am not able to exercise due to other things and yet... here I am and very pleased.

It was in May that my doctor found I was carb intolerant. I had been faithfully following a high fiber diet as prescribed by the program and managed to gain 16 pounds in eight weeks which by no stretch of the imagination did I need. I had kept a very complete journal and this is how she discovered my problem.

I started the program immediately and my health improved within the first week. I was able to discontinue my diabetic insulin shot and was then only taking two diffract pills three times a day. Then within three months I discontinued taking Diabinese which had kept me out of the sun for many years. I am now back out in the sun safely. I am now taking glucophage three times daily and my sugars are always "normal" and steady.

Exercise has its place but from personal experience it is NOT the answer. I have ten pounds to go to reach my weight of eight years ago when I was swimming and exercising in water at least four hours a day five to six days a week to keep at that weight. When I moved I was not able to keep it up and believe me it did not take long to put on about eighty pounds. Only ten more to go to get back to where I was when I was exercising every day and I can assure you I have not exercised or walked to get rid of the weight. I know it is cutting the carbs that has done the job.
