Preview - ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The new TV series from ABC, "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", is a product of the The Walt Disney Company's buyout of Marvel Comics in 2009. It is due for a September 2013 debut, and is executive-produced by Joss Whedeon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, along with Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb. The series will air Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. E.T. starting in the fall.
Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg): Alive, despite his death on the big screen in "The Avengers," Coulson is in charge of the agents of the world-wide law enforcement organization S.H.I.E.L.D.
Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton): Combat and espionage expert
Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen): Pilot and martial artist
Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker): Brilliant engineer-type
Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge): genius bio-chemist
Skye (Chloe Bennet): new recruit and computer hacker
In Marvel's first television series, Agent Phil Coulson assembles a highly select group of agents to investigate, as ABC says, "the new, the strange and the unknown around the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary." The series is said to take place after the events in "The Avengers" movie, and focuses on a group of people who live in a world of superheroes, but do not themselves have any superpowers.
