Update on Mill Creek Renovation
The renovation of Mill Creek Country Club since winter has arrived and we see much activity around the club house. This shows the members that we see progress and it is a welcome site. During the winter cold and less activity of members playing golf the construction going on with the club house is good news.

With this construction the first to move was the kitchen with a new trailer house parked near the parking lot to house the grill. Ruth and her staff made the move and are now in smaller quarters and less seating for hungry members. I stopped Friday to check if she still wanted cookies for the Sunday coffee drinkers and she said of course they will come in. It will be an adequate space where members can pick up a snack or two. Ruth has given great service to the members and kept the grill open for a long time during the flooded years.

There are signs of construction to the club house as the deck is ready to come down. The Pro Shop will also be moved to a trailer sometime this week. It will be a little handicap for the workers to get all the files and pro shop supplies moved to the new temporary office trailer. I was also informed that I needed to register my golf cart and was given a sticker with a number to show I was registered. I am happy to do this and placed my sticker in a prominent place on my windshield.

During this time of construction going on with the club house there is activity with the big pond. This is the holding pond for the use of the sprinkler system for the course. This area will be dredged deep and then lined with a special liner to keep this pond from leaking water. This had not been done for a long time. We have been informed by way of a news article in the Temple paper that this pond will include a fountain with lights. It is something the members will certainly enjoy.

Last week when I was in the club house I noticed on the bulletin board a blueprint of the layout of the new club house. It was good to see the plans and diagram of the new club house. With larger locker rooms, dining room, pro shop, game room and offices is going to be a great change for all members to enjoy.

It was also good to read in the newspaper article that we are now growing in memberships as this is great news. We hope for more as people will see the improvements. I for one am very grateful to the new owners and their desire to make this golf course a showpiece and popular as it was in the past.
