Fun With Golf

Fun With Golf
The weather has been so good lately but with lots of March winds in April.. I was feeling better and wanted to get out and use the golf range and putting area to try to get the game back. It has been a long cold winter and warm spring. Even had a hail storm in all that but my roof stayed in good condition the roofer thought because of the tree’s I did not have any damage. I had been going up to the club house checking on the progress and finally the club house is in operation.

I contacted Jane who also has not been playing golf since she broke her wrist in January and she now wanted to do some putting. I worked out some games and different things you could do to help your putting. On another day I invited Barbara who also has had some illness if she wanted to do our putting games. The three of us spent about half hour this past Wednesday on putting and then went to driving range and hit some balls. This work out should get us ready to hit the course and play nine or eighteen.

This putting game is to try to get within the circle of tees around the hole from five feet to ten feet then 15 feet. It help you to hit the ball straight and learn to gauge how to hit each ball at different length. We used three balls each and could keep track of how many times you made it into the circle. Along with this game you can keep track of how many time you hit your ball in the circle and that would be a winner or you can put money on each ball within the circle. We have not reached the money game at this time.

I was checking with J. L. Lewis in coordinating with him on the Grand Opening on May 3rd with inviting the Mill Creek Community Association. Since I do the MCCA newsletter I had to get everything right before sending it out. Everyone in Mill Creek is invited to come to the Grand Opening and if they want to have the Frjitas meal they have to email me with the number attending. I will then inform the kitchen of the total number wanting a Frjita meal from our MCCA group. I brought two copies of the newsletter to J. L. Lewis so he knows what the people will be receiving soon. He was well pleased and hoped for a good crowd.

I sent the newsletter to 636 residents of Mill Creek so next week I will be getting emails saying they will be staying for the Frjitas. I will reply back to them as to where they will pick their ticket and welcome them to the Grand Opening. They will tour the new club house, check on the new surrounding of the swimming pool and look over the new pond with the fountain with colored lighting at night. There will be displays of the finished work on the golf course plus also plans for the remaining work of the golf course to be completed.
