Pectin
Guest Author - Carolyn Chambers Clark, ARNP, EdD

Pectin slows the absorption of food after meals. That makes fruits (apples, bananas, citrus fruits)and vegetables (beets, cabbage, carrots, dried peas and okra) with pectin a good choice if you have diabetes.

Pectin also lowers cholesterol, and reduces the risk of heart disease and gallstones.
