Maisy the Mouse Books - Maisy Books

Lucy Cousins is the creator of the Maisy books. She writes and illustrates the storybooks, sticker books, mini board books and lift-the-flap books about the little mouse. There is a sturdy clock book, too. She lives in Hampshire, England. Ms. Cousins is the mother of four children.

Maisy is a mouse whose birthday is February 10. Although, she is a mouse; she acts like a human child. She is inquisitive about her world. Preschool Maisy learns the basic concepts such as colors, numbers, alphabet and the names of articles of clothing in the books.

Maisy has many adventures. The little mouse goes to the farm, fair, beach and park. Also, Maisy goes camping and hunts for a pirate’s treasure chest. In the Maisy books, she celebrates Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Valentine’s Day and Thanksgiving. Her friends usually accompany her on the adventures. They are Cyril the squirrel, Tallulah the chick, Charley the crocodile, and Eddie the elephant. Maisy’s favorite toy is a Panda.

Children love to read the Maisy books at bedtime and in the school room. They love learning the basic concepts with Maisy on NOGGIN, too. Infants, toddlers and early elementary children enjoy traveling with her, because the places are part of their world. They can relate to Maisy.

The colorful Maisy books are great gift books for children between the ages two and five-years-old. The books are brightly colored, because of the bright colors all the books can be used to teach children colors. Maisy’s books text is simple, but pleasing to children. In some Maisy storybooks, the text rhymes.
