Like many other women who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss, Debbie Anderson channeled her grief into a way to help others. She founded the Born Angels website after her son Adam died. Her bio says that she is the mother of three other angels as well. Other commitments forced Debbie to hand over the day to day running of the website to Sandra Huett who is the site's current webmaster. Debbie remains involved with the site however. For her part, Sandy experienced the loss of her nephew at four days old. She says “Watching my sister go through the various stages of grief was a heartbreaking experience, and one that no man or woman, Grandmother or Grandfather, brother or sister should ever have to cope with alone.”

This site has some interesting things I haven't really seen on other sites. Its support section includes information for family and friends including a list of helpful (and not so helpful) things they can say after a loss. This section also has a listing of some of the symptoms of coping with grief and some things you can do to help yourself heal. The site also includes a section on Post-Partum Depression after a miscarriage or stillbirth. Depression after this type of loss is usually attributed to the loss itself. However, it is likely that some women experience true Post-Partum Depression as well.

The site includes a support forum, although I had a tough time accessing it on the day I visited. The website also includes several links to many other sites which deal with pregnancy and infant loss. There is also a list of books on the topic. This book list is linked to Amazon.com. A mouse click on any title in their list will bring oyu directly to Amazon's site where you can purchase it.

The founder of the site, Debbie Anderson has also included a section with downloadable graphics for emails and websites. I'm usually in such a hurry to get my emails out that I don't ever bother to play with graphics but I know many people love them. There are a couple of cute angels, the miscarriage awareness ribbon and some pregnancy loss awareness banners. Finally, there is a poetry section although it is currently under construction.

The site is easy to navigate for the most part and I would definitely recommend it.
