I'm very sorry to report that Art-Ickles.com had to discontinue not only their contest here but ALL mail order shipping to anywhere outside of Haiti because of a huge increase in shipping prices! It would literally cost them $40 to ship even a small order because of the hike in rates from all carriers in and out of Haiti.

I love Art-Ickles products and hope that the Haiti government can work with the shippers to work out a solution to this problem. I realize the gas prices go up and down and that shippers have to cover their gas charges for their airplanes, but you do not see those kinds of extravagant high prices for any other country. It seems very much that they are taking advantage of Haiti and the people there to rake them over the coals and charge as much as they possibly can for the shipping. That could then easily put small companies like Art-Ickles.com out of business. Art-Ickles.com is made up of small groups of artists who hand make their products.
