Red Baron CarbWorks French Bread Pizza

Red Baron has come out with low carb french bread pizzas for your freezer, at 13g per pizza. Toss it into your microwave, heat it up and enjoy!

I admit I used to eat microwave pizzas for lunch pretty frequently. It's no wonder I got tubby :) Those are not exactly healthy. On the other hand, when you're busy and in a rush, you don't want to spend time on real cooking. You just want to stuff something in your mouth and keep going.

I highly, highly recommend eating REAL food in small doses during your day. There are enough easy, quick recipes out there that you should not have to default to frozen meals that are higher in price. Your health is the aim here. The seconds you save are being subtracted from your life.

That all being said, I had good hopes for the Red Baron pizza. I've had many low carb foods in the past months that have tasted far better than their sugar-rich versions. Food makers have really figured out how to create delicious meals that are also low in sugar.

For some reason, this didn't quite meet my hopes. Their french bread versions come in 'cheese' and 'supreme' varieties. If you ate it right away, you of course burnt your mouth. If you waited, though, the base bread tasted like cardboard. I ended up at various times with either a burnt top of mouth or a cardboardy meal.

Maybe future versions will be better balanced, but right now this isn't a meal I'd enjoy. Grill up a burger instead, or eat some fresh veggies!
