A Call For Your Holiday Stories!

Guest Author - T. Lynn Adams

A favorite holiday tale in my husband’s family has to do with the very man I married. When he was three-years-old and just learning to read, his family spent the holidays at his grandmother’s house. Upon arriving at grandma’s house he ran into the living room to inspect all of the gaily wrapped presents. After a few minutes he returned to the kitchen, obviously upset.

“Who’s To?” he demanded.

Not understanding the question his grandmother asked back, “Who’s to?”

“Yes,” he scowled. “Who’s To?”

Still confused his grandmother said, “I’m sorry. I don’t understand.”

With his hands on his hips, my then-young husband proceeded to announce his frustration. “I wanna know who To is ‘cause he’s getting every present under the tree. All the tags say ‘To’ on them, and I don’t think that’s very fair!”

Every family has their share of holiday tales--some humorous, some touching, some even miraculous. Wouldn’t it be great to share those stories right here, at LDSFamilies? What a wonderful way to share past blessings this holiday season. Your story may lift a reader at a time it is needed most. Your experience may bring a smile, a laugh, a tear or a stronger testimony to another.

So this year I invite you to send me your holiday experiences. They can be touching, funny, sentimental or anything else LDS appropriate. All you need to do is send them to me by clicking on my bio or the link at the bottom of this page.

Please keep your stories to 1,000 words or less. You can send me the story with your name on it or anonymously. I will post as many as I can throughout the season. Since we have a world-wide readership, I also invite our readers from around the world to share their stories. If you are worried about your English ability, let me know in your e-mail. You may have more ability to convey your experience than you think.

Also, if there is any interest in fiction stories among the readers, I would love to post your short holiday fiction, too! Who knows, may a publisher browsing this site will see your work.

I would love to turn this site into your site.

Let's start a great Holiday tradition with this!
